Sinopsis

La historia narra las aventuras de Gon Freecss, un niño de 12 años decidido a convertirse en un "cazador", personas que realizan distintos tipos de trabajos por todo el mundo y que por su título poseen grandes privilegios. Cuando era más pequeño, Gon fue capturado por un oso-zorro salvaje, pero fue liberado gracias a la ayuda de un cazador, quien le revela que su padre (presuntamente muerto) seguía vivo, además de que también era un cazador. Así, en contra de los deseos de su tía Mito-san, decide convertirse en cazador junto a Leorio, Kurapika y Killua y de este modo poder encontrar a su padre.
